At the beginning of 2022, we began to have discussions about this year’s event. At the time, COVID cases were still relatively high with no end in sight. So we decided that 2022 would have to be another virtual year and started planning in that direction.
In the intervening time, we pushed forward with starting to plan the event. We held calls every other week and continued to discuss what we wanted this years virtual event to look like. Unfortunately, after months of discussion, we simply couldn’t get excited about yet another virtual conference. We’ve since decided that we’re going to skip holding an event this year and concentrate on hopefully holding an in-person conference next year.
This will come as a disappointment to many and we apologize for that. We didn’t want to hold an event, just to hold it, despite a lack of enthusiasm for it. We love the BSidesDE conference and it holds a special place in all of our hearts. We decided that it would be better to skip a year rather than risk damaging the love and respect we and others have for it.
We hope you understand our reasoning and we hope to see you next year, in person.
